View file preview & metadata
In a folder that contains files with previews (most image, videos and audio files), click on the first file. A lightbox window will pop up showing you a preview of the file with quite a bit of general and technical information about the file, plus the ability to edit, download, delete or report the file if you have been given permission by your Administrator.
This popup is split into two main sections. On the left is the preview of the file and the navigation buttons. On the right hand side is a metadata window with three tabs: ‘General’, ‘Technical’ and ‘EXIF’.
Navigate through the files in your chosen folder by using the Next and Back buttons in the grey bar underneath your file preview. If there is no next or previous file to view, the link will be greyed out.
The general metadata tab shows you key information about this file such as its name plus any caption, description or copyright information that has been added to it. This can be edited by clicking the Edit Details padlock icon in the top right hand corner of the popup window which will then make the fields editable.
Much of this general metadata is searchable from the search boxes in the left hand columns across Publicitymedia.
Technical Metadata and EXIF Metadata
The information on the Technical metadata tab is a headline subset of the EXIF data (The EXIF data is all of the available technical data available about this file). The Technical tab puts the most needed and most used technical metadata (eg: file size and resolution, who uploaded the file and the media type) into an easy to read list.
If you want to view all of the metadata available for this file, click on the EXIF tab and scroll down the list to reveal all. The most commonly used fields in this list are mapped to the Technical metadata tab.
